Mary Elizabeth Cornwell Wilkinson, by Joanne Coombs Shipley (8/3/2014)

My grandmother, Mary Wilkinson, was being courted by a young man who kept pestering her a lot.  She was very annoyed.  One evening, she was serving coffee to everyone at the supper table, and when she asked him if he wanted some, he said, “Sure!”  He pulled the edge of his front pants pocket out and said with a laugh, “Put it right there,” and she did!
