Mike Bauer

June 8, 1943 – July 5, 2011
SALEM – It is with great sadness that the family of Fred (Mike) Bauer announces his passing, on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at the age of 68.

Mike was born and raised in the Willamette Valley. Besides his family, he loved his dog Wolfer, Clint Eastwood movies and collecting stamps and Z scale trains.

Mike was a mechanical designer, which was his true passion. He loved to come up with new ideas and see them through to the operational level. Although he was computer literate, his true love was for the designer’s “good old board and pencil”. Mike had retired from Valley Equipment Company in Salem, where he worked for many years.

He is survived by his son Matt, his daughters Carrie and Shilah and several grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother Don and sister Bonny.

A brief memorial service will be held Saturday July 16th, 10:30am at Bothmer Hall 5909 SE Division St. Portland, OR 97206 (Corner of 59th & Division; parking available behind building).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Mike’s name to Willamette Humane Society. (www.willamettehumane.org)
