For the past two years, I have been the caretaker of my family’s farm 8 1/2 miles NW of McMinnville, Oregon along Baker Creek Road. Since the Spring of 2010, the old family farmhouse has been rented out. Now the farm is bustling in activity with dozens of free range chickens, an outdoor garden and a passing deer or two. I think in 2012, the farm will be an Oregon Century Farm being in the family since at least 1912.

I remember in the early days when we came to the reunion, we had a trio of girls. Merrilee Johnson, Barbara and Christie Kerr were babies on a blanket smiling up at us. How they have grown now.

I’ve been at these reunions almost every year since being a small child. I remember for years my grandpa (Bill Warmington) and my great uncle (Ernest Shelburne), both married into the family, Elsie and Erma Smith, would bring ingredients for Homemade Ice Cream and have all us kids take turns with the hand crank.
We would be convinced that it was done whenever we were done cranking.
It was a lot of fun and tasted very yummy!
